Unit 10 Blog

Wow, last day of the term! Lets see, I would advice someone writing his or her scientific paper to start a few weeks in advance. Make sure you create a strong thesis statement because that is the key to a great paper. I feel this term I was able to create a great thesis statement. I also learned how to create structure to my paper with an outline. I feek I need inprovement with my concluding paragraph. I think I could have done a better job at it. Overall, I enjoyed this class and I hope to become a great writer and apply it to my future career.

Unit 9 Blog

I can't believe this term is almost over, and Christmas is around the corner! With my paper almost done, I feel accomplished and tired. I had to finish my paper last minute, unfortunately. I love writing, it is a lovely process. I just wished I didn't have everything happen to me at once, but im glad im back on my feet. I will finish all my work and not give up. There are so many topics I would love to research and write about! I would like to learn more about autism or bi polar disorder.

Unit 8 Blog

I feel that I have a tough time with my classes the past 3 weeks. I work at a retail store and it is soo crazy during the holidays and I have been short with managers..oouch. However, I will not give up, I will keep my head up high and get by everyday. I feel that everyone must also have a busy life, especially during the holidays. It can be too much reading and responding to other blogs when there is so much other assigments to complete and comment on as well. I don't know if I will keep using this blog after this term since i haven't had any commnets. However, it is was fun to just come on here and just let things out. I wish everyone good luck with the final paper :)

Unit 7 Blog

Hello Everyone!
I would like to say that it is great we can have peer reviews. We can always learn from someone else's point of view. It's important to have reassurance as well as critics. I liked to have someone reread my paper after me to see if I might have missed something, or maybe I should word something differently. As writers, we need our audience to give us feedback no matter if it’s good or bad :)
As I began constructing my paper, I have had many "Ah ha" moments. My first "Ah ha" was when I finally came up with my thesis statement. Another "Ah ha" was when wrote my first outline. I saw that I had some great supporting ideas for my topic sentences.
As I have been working on my paper I found shocking how many different yet simple things we can do to be healthy. I am almost done with my draft and I can't wait to share with everyone!

Unit 6 Blog

Hello Everyone! Wow were are at the end of unit 6..only three four more units to go! These past six weeks have been very busy for me. I feel like im doing great with this class, however I do feel overwhelmed with both classes. Anantomy and Physiology 2 is very time consumming for me. I am excited that after this term I will only have medical classes so that gives me the strength I need to deal with everything. Soon I will leave retail and be done with school..yayyyy :)

I think that my ideas for my topic are turning out just great. Nutrition is a great topic that can benefit everyone :)

Unit 5 Blog

Hello Everyone! Unit 5 has been very interesting. My two favorite pre writing techniques are brainstorming and outlining. My personal writing process is very simple and easy. I usually start brainstorming ideas that would support my topic sentences. Then I get more organized and specific with outlining. I write my topic sentence and three sentences that support it. Finally, I write a draft and the final revised draft.
I must say it is not easy being in school, working and raising a 5 year old. My biggest challenge is juggling the three. However, I know that being in school will eventually make life so much easier and better for me. School has influenced me in so many ways. Being back in school has taught me to keep striving for a better life and future. I want to be a role model for my daughter, and school will make this dream come true.

Unit 4 Blog

Hello Everyone!
We need to cite our resources because if we don't, we would be stealing someone else's ideas/words. If someone else were to steal my ideas or words I would take action. I would probably file a lawsuit against them. I don't think it is fair to steal someone's work, without giving them credit. That person would have had to given me credit if they really felt they needed to use my idea.
According to Kaplan University, Professionals would handle plagiarism by filing a lawsuit,or geting that person fired. If plagism happens in School, the student would be expelled.
My final thought on plagiarism is simple. Make sure you always give credit to the person who's words you borrowed.

Unit 3 Blog

Hello Everyone! I'm so excited to be writing on my blog page! I am releived I have chosen the topic for my paper. I think I can write a great paper on the importance/necessity of proper nutrition. The focus of my paper will be on the enhacement of health and the prevention of illness. What do you guys think? There is so much I can say about nutrition but I dont want to confuse my audience with too much information.

I really enjoy being an online student. I am a manager in a retail store and I have a 5 year old that requires much attention =). The courses at Kaplan are so flexible and convinient in my busy life. I really like how we can have this blog page to talk amoung one another. I will love to be part of a large community, the blog-o-sphere!
